Youth Conventions

As a versatile singer, songwriter, and speaker, Jack DuMez has been asked to participate in youth conventions in a number of ways. Whether as a song leader, as a featured performer, as a lay-counselor, or simply as a positive presence at conventions, DuMez has helped many teens and young adults enjoy being together. His concerts are often inspiring. One enthusiastic concertgoer writes,

Whew! I was moved! Seeing 400+ kids having such a good time in good

Christian fellowship truly gives me hope for the future of the human race!

Jack, your music ..... what can I say?! Those kids loved you! Heck, we all

love you. My internal applause meter said you were the star of the event.

I personally like both electric and acoustic but your electric pieces had me dancing

behind the camera. I'm talking to Dale about using your music as background

for the Spectrum Highlights Video. Is that OK with you?

Jack has earned the respect and trust of adult conventioneers as well. One mother attending Spectrum with her daughter writes,

I must share with you that I am having a hard time getting to listen to your CD. No not because I am to busy but because my children love to listen to it at night as they are going to sleep. I was very happy to have my fifteen year old son ask me for it so he could listen to it as he went to sleep. My daughter used it to take to school. She likes to listen to it on the bus. I am so pleased. Thank you for your music that I sure many people are enjoying as much as we are.

Fundraisers

In his short time as an independent artist, Jack has been asked to perform at a handful of fundraisers as well. "I'm glad I can call my own shots regarding where I want to play," explains Jack, "I like fundraisers when I know that the attendees are gathered around a cause which helps improve other people's lives - even if the event means a few hours in a stuffed shirt."

Special Events

While most of his work has been at coffeehouses and churches, Jack has also been asked to play at a number of special events. He has been invited to perform at homeless shelters, nursing homes, a Catholic women's service league dinner, weddings, birthday parties, ice cream socials, and clergy meetings. He has integrated dramatic presentations and even clown productions at church socials, skilled-care nursing facilities, parades, and even his own family gatherings. Jack can often create an unique hybrid presentation, integrating both theater and music for special events.
