On this page I host songs I have been working on recently. They are song sketches and are free to download an MP3 or download a Real Player™ or Windows Media Player™ file.

They are song sketches from my home studio and may be on my next album . . . or they may be available only on this limited edition web collection. Please feel free to let me know what you think. Just write mail@jackdumez.com. As always, thanks for listening.

Listen for these songs, previously posted, at concerts or perhaps on upcoming CDs.

Hear Music from the Studio

*This song was written for Fowler Camp and Conference Center in Speculator, New York. The MP3 demo is for song leaders who need to hear the song to play it. The lyrics/chords sheet is in Microsoft Word format.* For more information about Fowler, visit www.campfowler.org. Fowler is a great camp with a clear vision — really the place I started writing music.

Permission is granted to Fowler Camp and Conference Center representative, Kent Busman, to coordinate the use of “Forest Floor Hymn” for events through August 2005.

It has been a while since I have posted a new song. “Little Jack” was written for my nephew and namesake, Jonathan Du Mez. I wrote the song for his baptism in July 2003, and recorded it recently for my demos. The title is a bit obvious, but his family started calling him ‘little Jack’ right away. Like Forest Floor Hymn, this song takes a traditional hymn and wraps it into an original melody. I hope you enjoy the take.
